Medical Journal: IMJ Health Peer Review Policy

IMJ Health Peer Review Policy

"IMJ Health uses a strict review process to make sure that the research we publish is very good and helps to improve medical knowledge.

IMJ Health is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity in the research it publishes. To ensure the validity and reliability of our content, We have a careful review system to check the quality of the research.

At IMJ Health, the peer review process is crucial in maintaining the quality and integrity of the research we publish. We utilize a double-blind peer review process, where both the reviewer(s) and author(s) remain anonymous throughout the review, ensuring unbiased feedback and assessment.

Key Aspects of Our Peer Review Process:

  1. Simultaneous Submissions: Articles submitted to IMJ Health must not be under consideration by other journals. Authors should wait for review feedback before submitting elsewhere.
  2. Scope and Relevance: Submissions outside the journal’s scope will not be considered for review.
  3. Reviewer Assignment: Each article is typically reviewed by 3-4 experts. This includes one reviewer from India and others from international locations, as deemed necessary by the editorial board.
  4. Additional Reviews: Editors may seek further reviews if required. Authors will be notified if additional review rounds are needed.
  5. Editorial Decision: The Editors-in-Chief make final publication decisions based on reviewers' reports. Authors of rejected articles are promptly informed by email.
  6. Confidentiality: All submitted articles are treated as confidential documents. The double-blind review process ensures anonymity and impartiality.
  7. Plagiarism Check: All submissions undergo plagiarism screening. Articles found plagiarized during the initial review are rejected immediately. If plagiarism is detected post-publication, the Editor-in-Chief will investigate, possibly with the help of a committee, and may notify the author's affiliated institution and funding agency.
  8. Reviewer Expertise: Reviewers have the right to decline an article if it falls outside their field of expertise. In such cases, the editor will assign the article to another suitable reviewer.

Policy on Assured Publication:

IMJ Health does not guarantee publication of any article without completing the peer review process, regardless of the author's affiliation or position. Anyone promising publication without peer review is not representing the journal and may face legal action. Authors are advised to be cautious of such claims.
