IMJ Health Plagiarism Policy

IMJ Health has strict rules against plagiarism to make sure the research we publish is honest and good.

IMJ Health is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in the research it publishes. Plagiarism is a serious academic offense and will not be tolerated.

IMJ Health is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and originality in research publications. Plagiarism, the unethical practice of using someone else's work—ideas, processes, results, or words—without proper acknowledgment, is strictly prohibited. Self-plagiarism, where an author reuses significant portions of their own previously published work without appropriate citations, is also unacceptable.

IMJ Health Plagiarism Policy

1. Definition and Types of Plagiarism:

  1. Full Plagiarism: Directly copying previously published content without any changes is considered full plagiarism. This includes presenting exact text as one's own.
  2. Partial Plagiarism: Rephrasing content from multiple sources without proper citation is considered partial plagiarism.
  3. Self-Plagiarism: Reusing significant portions or the entirety of one's own previously published work without proper reference is known as self-plagiarism.

2. Policy and Actions for Plagiarism:

IMJ Health respects intellectual property rights and is dedicated to protecting and promoting original research. Any manuscript submitted to IMJ Health is subjected to a plagiarism check using Turnitin or another licensed software. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism during the initial review will be rejected outright.

If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the Editor-in-Chief will initiate an investigation, potentially involving a committee specifically constituted for this purpose. If the investigation confirms plagiarism beyond acceptable limits, the following actions may be taken:

  1. Institutional Notification: The Director, Dean, Head of the College, Institution, or Organization, or the Vice Chancellor of the University affiliated with the author(s) will be notified to take appropriate action.
  2. Article Retraction: The published article will be removed from the journal’s website, and all access links will be disabled. The article will be labeled as "Plagiarized" across all platforms.
  3. Author Penalties: The author(s) involved in plagiarism will have their account disabled and will be barred from submitting future articles for a period of 3, 5, or 10 years, or even permanently, depending on the severity of the case.
  4. Public Disclosure: The journal may publish the names and contact details of the authors involved in plagiarism on its website.
  5. Further Actions: Additional actions may be taken as recommended by the committee or deemed necessary by the Editorial Board.

IMJ Health takes plagiarism seriously and will take all necessary steps to ensure that the originality and quality of its publications are upheld.
