ISSN: 2395-6291 | Recognizing Excellence in Peer Review | COPE Member

"Peer review is a largely unrewarded, altruistic activity. Journals and publishers have a responsibility to recognize the contributions of peer reviewers and to ensure that the peer review process is efficient, effective, and equitable."

Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), 2024

IMJH believes that high-quality peer review is the foundation of scholarly publishing. Our Reviewer Benefits and Recognition Program is designed to acknowledge, reward, and support the dedicated experts who volunteer their time and expertise to maintain the quality of medical research.

10. Frequently Asked Questions

When submitting a manuscript as author or co-author, indicate in the cover letter that you are an active IMJH reviewer and include your reviewer ID. The editorial office will verify your review history and apply the appropriate discount before issuing the invoice. Discounts are applied at the acceptance stage.

Reviews completed within the last 24 months count toward tier status and APC discounts. Lifetime reviews count toward milestone recognition (10, 25, 50, 100+ reviews) and editorial board consideration. Your reviewer dashboard shows both your active (24-month) and lifetime totals.

Yes. Reviewers may choose to remain anonymous in our annual published acknowledgment. To opt out, update your privacy settings in your reviewer dashboard or contact the editorial office at info@imjhealth.org. Note that opting out does not affect your eligibility for other benefits (APC discounts, awards, etc.).

Winners are selected by the Editor-in-Chief and Senior Editors based on quantitative metrics (review volume, turnaround time) and qualitative assessments (editor ratings of review quality, constructiveness, and professionalism). The selection process occurs annually in November, with winners announced in the December issue.

APC discounts are applied to the manuscript and benefit all co-authors equally. However, the discount is triggered by the reviewer status of any author on the manuscript. For example, if you are a Platinum-tier reviewer and co-author a paper with a non-reviewer colleague, the full 50% discount applies to the manuscript.

Log in to your reviewer dashboard at imjhealth.org/reviewer-login. Navigate to "My Recognition" and click "Download Certificate." Certificates are generated in real-time and include your name, review count for the year, and any awards or milestone achievements. Certificates are also emailed automatically in January for the previous calendar year.
